Gabriel Lockett, Ph.D. (He/Him), is an Assistant Professor in NYU's Department of Applied Psychology. His work cultivates affirming spaces that prioritize the wellness of Black-Afro-diasporic and LGBTQ+ communities.

Dr. Lockett's research promotes health equity among BIPOC LGBTQ+ populations, examines strength-based responses to violence and discrimination, and develops translational interventions for individual and community wellness.
He holds a Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology from the University of Florida, an M.S. in Counseling Psychology from Tennessee State University, and a B.S. in Biology from Tennessee State University.
